Readers who have followed me for some time now, know that I was fortunate to have been part of a book collaboration that was co-authored by some of the leading business and thought leaders of today, including a couple of my personal mentors whom I have worked with such as Brian Tracy and Robert G. Allen and also several other highly respected and well know industry leaders such as Chris Atwood and Janet Bray Atwood, Leigh Steinberg, Ron Legrand and several others.

The book was called The Only Business Book You’ll Ever Need, and it became an instant best seller in several categories when it was released earlier in 2012.

Now I’m giving away my AWARD WINNING chapter to the book. A chapter that I titled Plan For Success.

The Plan For Success System – Program Soon Available

Quantcast

Well, it has been a looong journey, but it will finally not be long before I will be launching my very first online information product, called The Plan For Success System.

The program is the result of an interview that I gave to an accomplished entrepreneur Mr. Greg Rollett and the interview was centered around my contribution to the book collaboration The Only Business Book You’ll Ever Need that I co-authors with among others Mr. Brian Tracy.

My contribution to said book referenced a number of encounters that I have had when meeting entrepreneurs and discovering just how many (and there are MANY) of them are way too over-stressed and probably pushing themselves to an early grave. Their problems are usually that although they are putting in the many hours that they are not getting the results they had hoped for and most of their time seems to end up being in a response or reactive mode rather than in a proactive mode. They usually end up spending most of their time frantically putting out fires left and right. At the same time they are usually disintegrating all the other parts of their lives, putting no resources into their relationships nor their health – and it shows and it is felt in both of these areas. But they have no time nor the extra energy to muster to do something about these areas after their full day of painfully trying to keep their businesses afloat.

What has struck me from conversations with many of such entrepreneurs is that they very often completely lack the tools or simple and very fundamental parts to running their businesses, so that in essence they are running their businesses blindfolded. When you run your business blindfolded, it is no wonder that you may just suffer the consequences and end up in a scenarios such as described above.

During my discussion with Greg Rollett, I came to realize that I wanted to see if I could help entrepreneurs in this situation find those fundamental tools. Tools they already know about, but that they oftentimes are not utilizing or discarding in their daily operations and because of that are running their businesses on guess work causing this ripple effect to set in sooner or later.

So the interview with Greg Rollett soon took a different character and he turned his questions in to what we structured as a 4-module natural layout.

Now I appreciate the interview in itself and I believe it to have much great content to draw insights from. Insights that I learned through my years so far of being involved in a multitude of businesses spanning several industries and several countries and several types of businesses with several different positions. My perspectives have come from being an employee at all kinds of levels starting from probably the lowest ranked positions to the highest, from being a start up entrepreneur with multiples of start up companies in my experience, to being a partner in several other businesses, to being a board member in yet even more businesses, to being an expensive high-level consultant to businesses, to consulting high profile professionals and athletes, in multiple countries of Europe and several States in the United States of America. Experience from industries operating in the service industry, some in the high end luxury markets, the construction industry and with top roles such as CEO, President, Board Member and Owner.

But one of the things I particularly like from this program is the Action Guide. This Action Guide is what is going to make the content of the program and the lessons in there become truly relevant to the entrepreneur seeking answers and solutions to their situation. Although the Action Guide is relatively small the exercises therein will help direct the entrepreneur’s focus on the issues that underlies the problem situation and help the entrepreneur get clear about where to set in.

Some of the parts to the equation are so simple, but we oftentimes need someone from the outside to tap on our shoulder and point towards them. We get that “aha” moment and the light bulb comes on. Then comes the work, but now it you know where you need to place some focus to tighten up and righten the ship.

Now this program will not of course solve your every business problem and it will not be an all encompassing teaching, but it could be just the start that is going to help the troubled entrepreneur get back on the right track. That is my aim and that is what I’m committed to with the program.

The Plan For Success System

Running Multitudes Of Businesses – A Challenge For Sure

Quantcast

Yes, running several businesses all at the same time on top of starting off multiple different projects is definitely a challenge. Spreading yourself thin over many projects all at once is definitely something that can make a lot of things, a lot of your projects, a lot of your dreams go nowhere. However, that being said, you can actually make it happen. It’s not necessarily easy, but with the right focus, tools and people it can be done.

I love to do a multitudes of things. Not just in my areas of interests and hobbies, but also in business. I like a lot of shiny objects that present themselves to me – so to speak. The challenge is of course how to master the in-all-places interests and actually achieve the results you hope and strive for.

One of the best ways to tackle this and your ambition for running multitudes of things all at the same time is to utilize people or teams and tools. The people factor is what you would come to expect hiring the right people for the various jobs at hand. The right people can make it possible for you to achieve the right results. It’s an obvious part of the equation you might expect me to suggest. Finding and getting that perfect right team is a different matter altogether. Not always very easy. Not always without some struggles, set backs and frustration – not to mention pain. Further details on people, hiring people and managing people I will leave for a future discussion. But going back to the other part of the equation leaves tools.

One of the very important tools for running your business – and even more so, running several businesses – is your P&L statement, reviewed on a regular basis, and your budget.

Yet, I’m often astounded by just how many business owners and entrepreneurs I meet on regular basis from all over who seem so unaccustomed to actually placing much effort and attention to this. If you wish to have a lifestyle that will afford you the income gained from running a business (or several) you need to utilize these tools. A budget will show you the viability of your business. Of course your budget can be completely off, but I do not see why it would be extremely off unless you didn’t do your budgeting work decently to begin with. A monthly review of your P&L statement (your profits & loss statement) will tell you if you are on track, lacking or perhaps hopefully ahead. It can also let you know if you need to do some adjustments to the way the business is run (or the way in which your team is running your business).

If you know your numbers well, then you can to a greater extend actually step away from the business and have others take care of most of the operations for you. Why? Well, because if you know your numbers well and you review your business numbers on at least a monthly basis, then you can very quickly access whether you are heading for the results you are striving for. If you are not you should relatively quickly be able to see where in the equation things go wrong and thus find out where it is that you need to address your team’s attention towards.

The Plan For Success System

I’m in the midst of finalizing a small program on this exactly topic.

The Plan For Success System

The program was born out of a chapter that I wrote for a great book-collaboration I was invited to do with one of my own mentors, Mr. Brian Tracy. You must know Brian Tracy. If you don’t, you are really missing out. I highly suggest you get acquainted with his material (there is a lot!). The book-collaboration resulted in the book called The Only Business Book You’ll Ever Need. It became an instant best seller on Amazon when it was released earlier this year. Among the other co-authors you find Robert G. Allen, with whom I have also worked and Masterminded and who has a long string of best selling books behind him and who has sold over a billion dollars worth of information products. Yes, that’s a billion with a b. Leigh Steinberg, who is the real life character of Jerry Macguire, portrayed by Tom Cruise in the the film of same name, also contributed to this book. I have had the great fortune of meeting Leigh on a few occasions and he has many lessons to share from his world. My friend Larry “The Connector” Benet is also part of the book collaboration along with a few other very remarkable people that I’m quite happy to be associated with and whose names you may know (or should get to know). In other words, the book is filled with insights from a lot of great people who have achieved much and who have made a remarkable life.

I expect the special program that looks a little further in depth of this particular aspect of running a business to be released within a week, so be sure to keep a look out for it. In fact, may I suggest that you sign up for my newsletter, so I can advice you on its release and/or progression?

It Is Said We All Got A Book Inside Of Us

Quantcast

Well, I say they are right when they say we all have a book inside of us. I can’t believe that up until last year I had no books out there and now I have no less than 5. To top that off, I even have 2 more on their way and I even have thoughts for about 3 more of my own.

To be fair all of these 7 books except for one of them (still to be published) have been book collaborations, so my own personal work load in getting the book content has been minimal in that I actually only had to supply a single chapter per book. Nevertheless, I am actually happy with the result and not least super excited and honored to have co-written with such capacities as is the case. There are too many great names to list them all. Lots of the names you probably are familiar with from other books or from movies or other media that you may have seen them in. In addition to these are a string of other very amazing people, whom I have had the great pleasure of meeting over the past year or so. All of them highly successful and all of them with expert knowledge and expertise in their specific fields.

In conclusion the books hold a lot of great insights and knowledge from which we can all learn. A lot of this information is very valuable and can be used in your business or in your personal development.

This journey has been very remarkable and once again I must come to the conclusion that I truly am a very fortunate man. I’m very grateful for this.

Mikkel Pitzner Awarded 3 Quillys At The National Academy Of Best-Selling Authors Summit 2012

Things have been happening really fast lately.

I was fortunate to be invited to participate in a number of books this year, which all went on to become best-sellers on Amazon when they were released. It has been such a privilege and has led to the introduction to several legendary names that everybody should know if they do business. Let me just name a few of these names: Brian Tracy, Dan Kennedy, Robert G. Allen and Jack Canfield.

Brian Tracy has authored more than 50 books and is still going strong. He is truly one of my big heros and his teachings are still must reads. I was privileged to co-author the book titled The Only Business Book You’ll Ever Need with Brian Tracy. Dan Kennedy may not be a household name, but for knowledgeable marketeers the name should ring a bell. Dan Kennedy has reached legendary status within the marketing world and he has brought very significant results to his clients over the years. He knows all the tricks and tools of the marketing world and has tested probably all of them too personally. With Dan Kennedy I co-wrote Marketing Miracles.

During especially 2012 I have also amped up my Mastermind groups. Mastermind groups are very, very powerful and can help in propelling yourself and your business to completely new levels and at much greater speed than you would probably do it on your own. To come by the best Mastermind groups, you must foresee pretty big expenditures, but they are definitely worth it, if you get with the right group. Indeed I would say the right group can easily not just 10 or 100 times your investment into being part of such a group, but actually can 10 or 100 times your business results. Lofty words you may think, but I’m very unapologetic about this. Anybody who has been in a great Mastermind group should be able to attest to that. Will it be the case for any Mastermind group? Most definitely not! But with the right group, there is no limit to what you can achieve.

One of the Mastermind groups that I was part of as of 2011 and 2012 was that of Robert G. Allen and Dave Vanhoose and included a string of other very highly successful business owners and professionals. Robert G. Allen is famous for being the No Money Down guy for special real estate deals that laid the basis for his first fortune. He has written a number of best selling books on the subject along with subsequently several other books on other topics including what he has coined Infopreneuring. With infopreneuring, he turned his attention more to teaching and has built even greater wealth from this business. Dave VanHoose built a Fortune 35 company in just a few years and built up an enormous amounts speaking engagements. His latest venture teaches other experts to make large sums of money from speaking engagements and their knowledge and expertise.

At some point during the Mastermind sessions we decided we should do a book together and so The Rules Of The Game came about.

By the way, I first met Robert G. Allen at a SANG event. An event that attracts some of the very biggest and heaviest hitters within the expert industry. Think of a big current name that you know of and it is likely that this person has at one point attended at least one SANG event. The SANG events are run by my friend Larry Benet, who is famous for being probably the most and best connected person in the world. Larry the Connector he is also called.

Finally I co-wrote The Success Secret with Jack Canfield. You must know Jack Canfield. He is a true legend. He has with his Chicken of the Soul book series sold in excess of 500 million books! One of his famous books is The Success Principles on which he has taught many sessions.

All of these books went to best selling status on Amazon immediately upon release. All of them indeed made several best-seller lists. Marketing Miracles made, I believe, 5 best seller lists and The Success Secret a fantastic 7 best seller lists.

As a culmination to this great ride, The National Academy of Best-Selling Authors invited me to Hollywood for their annual best-sellers summit. The third annual event of its kind, I believe. The National Academy of Best-Selling Authors is to authors what the National Oscars Academy is to actors. At the event I met with so many other best selling authors including a number of those I had had the pleasure of co-writing books with.

The National Academy of Best-Selling Authors has introduced the Quilly award. And this event was the awards ceremony for 2012 at which these awards were given to the select best-selling authors, among which I also was awarded. In fact I was awarded for 3 books; specifically The Only Business Book You’ll Ever Need, The Success Secret and Marketing Miracles. So you can imagine this was quite a special event for me.

Setting Goals and Achieving Your Dreams – How Do You Do It?

In a recent post called New Year’s Resolutions that I made I wrote about setting some goals. In this specific post I was referencing some goals I had set for myself for my recommenced training as part of my New Year’s Resolutions for an improved health and getting back into shape. Well, if you remember or review this post, you learned that I really did not do too well in terms of reaching the goal for distance for my January run. In fact I only made about 55% of my distance goal. Now while the reason could have been that I was slacking off too much, the major reason for this specific lack of achievement was probably more due to the fact that my goal was unrealistic for the condition and personal fitness at the time. As you can read from the original post I had planned to do 300 km in the month of January, but actually only did about 165 km. Well, as mentioned I pretty much hadn’t done any run nor much of any other training for at least 6 months, so as I ramped up my distance immediately once we hit January 1st then I also asked for trouble straight away by overtraining and hurting myself, basically also putting me out of the game again, in requirement of rest days in greater quantity than I had planned or wished for.

The problem was that I did not set realistic, obtainable and achievable goal in congruence with the current state of me. My mental mindset was all there, but my physical state unfortunately did not allow it.

So I think it would be beneficial to look at how one should set goals. It might do me good to revisit the great goal setting techniques that has been advocated by many mentors for years and I suspect it might be good for some of the visitors to my blog too.  I have therefore posted an article on setting goals and achieving them which you can read here: Setting Goals and Achieving Your Dreams – How Do You Do It?

NYC Tri 2011 Cut

New Year’s Resolutions

Well, it is January 31st – the end of the first month into the year. If you are like me and most other people, chances are that you set some New Year’s resolution on New Year’s Eve. The question now then beckons, “How well are you doing with those New Year’s resolutions?”

I recently heard one of my mentors, Brian Tracy, say that 78% of New Year’s resolution already fail within a month. Wow, how about that? That is a scary statistics. While I am unsure about what the statistics really say and how you would get a real measure of that it certainly seems true that most New Year’s resolutions either get ditched almost as rapidly as the so-called decision for them was made on the New Year’s evening or quite rapidly fades away in awareness and execution of the individual.

So as for me, I set out a few resolutions for myself and in particular for getting back into shape and to lose some of those excess kilos. My plan for getting the results in this area entailed recommencing doing my runs, whether on the treadmill or outside and getting the mileage up, while really trying to cut away some of the unhealthy calories that I had a nasty habit of consuming every day. That’s right, my daily visits to Starbucks would usually result in my standard order of a double tall cappuccino and a pumpkin loaf. And when you go there every day and sometimes several times a day, then you do actually take on something extra that you don’t really want; excess pounds.

I joking mentioned last year, when I set out similar resolutions (oh, yeah, I’m just like most other people. I set resolutions and then I wane off them again after some time), that now would be the time for you to sell any Starbucks shares you might own, since their sales were bound to drop as a direct result of my visits to them were about to end.

So now a month into my little program let’s review just how well it has gone so far. Well, I kinda set out a plan to run 300 km during the month of January. I figured that I would do 10 km a day and if  I skipped a day I would just have to make up for it another day. Yeah, right! You have to realize that I went from pretty much a sedentary state of activities, doing zero physical work outs for at least 6 months, to jumping right into it from day one. Well, it only took me 4 days and then my knees and calves were complaining and hurting. Obviously this is no way of doing any training. Your joints and ligaments need to get built up over time using relatively slow progression. I believe a common factor would be to increase your mileage by maximum 10% per week. So obviously I had to stop a bit and get some recovery in. I am actually not very good with this. A rest day for me often turns into two and then three and so on. I’m usually better at being really stringent or not doing anything at all. It’s a case of having a STOP and a GO button, but nothing in between. No gears, just full blast or complete stand still. I often go from doing absolutely zilch to go all out and then ending up hurting myself again, so that even if I wanted to, I would not be able to do my training. Hmmm, no so good.

Well, I have come to the realization that perhaps my results and my chances of success with this may be heightened by changing the formula a little. I may need to run one day and then intermix the routine by jumping on the bike the next day and possibly put in some strength exercises the third day and then start over or at least some interchanging of what I train and how I do it. As I have signed up for a few triathlons this year too, then I kinda should get on that bike again and perhaps really also should look at doing some swims, so it may make good sense after all.

Looking at the first month, this is what I accomplished: 165.99 km on the treadmill. Well, that is a far cry from the 300 km that I had in mind. It’s in fact just over half of the outset. While this is not terribly satisfactorily, then I am not too displeased. My original goal for the very first month was probably not too realistic. Will it be realistic to do in a monthly period? Of course, but I would have to be in a condition in which I am already pre-disposed to be able to do so. Meaning my legs, joints and muscles are better prepared through more consistent training over a little time to get me there. In terms of kilos, I lost 3.1 kgs and dropped my BMI number by 1 and my fat percentage by 1.8%. This is quite a bit less than what I had in mind as I pretty much had in mind to accomplish more or less what I did last year in January, which was losing 10 kgs in less than a month. But, and there is a but here. I believe that my course now is on the right track opting also for something more sustainable for the long haul rather than the stop and go that I have had a bad habit of doing.

Well, let’s see now. Do you sometimes feel you are seeing the same picture developing for your results too? Whether it being your health or perhaps your wealth? Do you find yourself getting into better shape lessen the excess pounds and then suddenly realize you are back again or even at a worse off state than the point your started from. Do you sometimes see your results whether in business or earning do quite a bit the same? And do you perhaps realize that perhaps you waned off too on your actions, resolutions, decisiveness and commitment?

My guess is that most of us do.

Makes you think then also what’s wrong with your pattern? Makes you realize that perhaps there are things you need to change in your formula. Makes me remember words of Jim Rohn: “We can have more than we’ve got because we can become more than we are” and likewise “The most important question to ask on the job is not “What am I getting?” The most important question to ask is “What am I becoming?”

Or in the words of Les Brown: “You must be willing to do the things today others won’t do, in order to have the things others won’t have”.

So how well are you doing with your resolutions? Are you moving forward with your goals? Are you moving forward in positive direction towards where you want to be? And if you are not, what are you going to do in order to fix that? What are you willing to do? And who are you wanting to become?

In The Presence Of Greatness

Brian Tracy

I have been excessively fortunate just lately and had the immense pleasure of being in the presence of greatness.

Last weekend in San Diego I received lessons and words of wisdom from no other than Mike Koenigs, Joseph McClendon III, Paul Colligan, Amy Porterfield, Haley Hill Hohengarten and Christina Hills and this weekend in San Jose by Brendan Burchard, Wayne Dyer, Daniel Amen, Brian Tracy and once more by Paul Colligan.

Great stimulation and exercise for my brain and mind blowing presentations and even some hip hop rap.

Also among the big crowds of highly successful entrepreneurs I had the great chance to meet some very awesome and cool people from all over the world including quite a few from my home country Denmark.

Great contacts were established, some business in sight possibly too and very hopefully commencement of some lasting new friendships.
