Mikkel Pitzner Speaks At Beyond Strategy's Workbench

Mikkel Pitzner Speaks At Beyond Strategy’s Workbench

Workbench lead by Ingrid Pyka, the CEO of (Going) Beyond Strategy invited Mikkel Pitzner to share his insights to how to become and be memorable in a world that is increasingly losing attention span.

Mikkel Pitzner Speaks At Beyond Strategy's Workbench

I had the utmost pleasure of presenting my insights on what I call The Attraction Factor or rather a sub part of this which is about how you create an attractive character that people will resonate with and become attracted to, so that you will attract your ideal clients and more business, while simultaneously eliminating those who will just rob you of your time.

Speaking on May 6 and May 7 to a couple of groups of entrepreneurs, I had the distinct pleasure of sharing some very specific thoughts on the Attractive Character creation and drawing in personal experiences and referencing examples from the world around us that we can all recognize.

Workbench is a recurring Meet Up event organized by Ingrid Pyka, who is the CEO of Mish & Tish Publishing and a Founding Consultant with her firm (Going) Beyond Strategy. The entrepreneurs who get together for these bi-monthly meetings come from all kinds of businesses and industries.

It was a truly enjoyable experience and I thank Ingrid Pyka for the opportunity and the groups of entrepreneurs for listening so attentively.

Changes Ahead feat

Changes Ahead

There’s going to be some changes coming around here that excites me greatly. It’s also about time.

After so many years of entrepreneurship and having run several businesses – some successfully some not – it’s amazing that I still have to learn so many good old lessons. Lessons that we have all heard before and lessons we often hear from our very early age.

So while I’m not proud that I keep making many mistakes in areas of which I should have known better, at least I’m grateful that I’m finally coming to terms with reality and the need to step things up. There’s going to be a lot of changes coming here for me and for the businesses in which I’m involved. It’s exciting times in other words and I’m positive that hugely improved results will come of the changes.

I will update more as I progress, so you can follow along and revisit the lessons I’m finally taking to heart and so you can follow along with any results that may come of it. In other words, I will also be a bit more specific about the changes that I will be making and why these need to be made.

As I write this it’s Christmas time and we are approaching year’s end which is very suitable for making revisions of your current state of affairs and life, and for looking a bit at where you wish to go in future and perhaps getting clear on what changes you may need to do in order for that to happen. I find entering a new year is a great time for you to make such revisions, but that said, I find that anytime is a great time to do so. In other words, my recommendations are not to be waiting for a new year to come around – any time is a good time, especially if it involves implementing changes for real in order to improve your life. So it is actually by happenstance that my changes that I have finally come to terms with are necessary and needed happen to take place now.

But things are happening these days. For the better, I’m happy to say. When changes take place, however, it also often produces stress and anxiety and this part is not so wonderful to live through, and I’m finding myself being more irritable lately, which is unpleasant for me and those around me. I only hope that those around me don’t quite feel the brunt of it and certainly I hope they feel nowhere near the irritation that I feel myself. Changes are often highly unpleasant and involves more than may appear on the surface. But changes may very often be highly necessary and needed. I have come to a part of my life where I need to make some serious changes as I wish to propel myself to a higher level and greater results.

As I said, little has the timing of this to do with the fact that we are coming to a year’s end, but it is perhaps quite befitting all the same. The question is for you to ask yourself, what changes you might need to make for yourself in order for you to achieve some of the goals and aspirations that you have for your life? What new habits do you need to form? What old habits do you need to tear down?

I think I have my work cut out for me. But at least I’m highly motivated to do so too. Let’s just hope that I can juggle all of “Life” while in the process.

It’s going to be an interesting ride. Please wish me luck as I wish you luck in your journey.

Changes Ahead for Mikkel Pitzner in search of greater results

Are You Throwing Away Perfectly Good Money?

Still Whining About Lack Of Business? Are You Leaving Money On The Table Too?

Every day I see it and even experience it. Businesses that are so hungry for more business and more revenues, but that are at the same time turning their backs on it.

It baffles me all the time. But every day I see it and experience it. Usually several times a day with a multitude of businesses of any industry.

Here’s a couple of recent examples:

I recently bought a new home and moved in. Along with the move you go through all the things you want and need. New updates, painting jobs, changing out carpets or installing hardwood floors, changing rooms, altering for taste or updating styles or just upgrading old appliances and what not.

So one of the installations my new house has, is that of a full blown sprinkler system in case there’s a fire. Kinda neat and a first for me to have in a private home. It’s especially nice since the sprinkler outlets are “hidden” and therefore don’t look industrial and awful. Now,  the sprinkler system is of course hooked up with sensors and an alarm system that goes to nearest fire station and the sheriff’s office. Kinda cool too.

Since the system is already in place and already has all communications and sensors to it, it feels natural that you might want to expand upon that to include everything for your personal safety too, such as a personal alarm (handy for when the wife is home alone) or for burglary alarm systems etc. for when nobody’s home.

As I took over the house I had to go through the motions of getting all accounts turned over to me and registering me and my family with all the relevant suppliers and vendors. It also meant that I had vendors come out and check everything was fully function-able and this gave me the perfect opportunity to explore more possibilities, system upgrades and updating equipment where necessary.

For the sprinkler system that was the same too and a very nice gentleman came to our house. We signed the papers and he went through the entire installation and checked everything was up and running perfectly and as it should.

His visit gave me the opportunity to explore what else could be done now that we had the system in place and we quickly found that we could in fact expand the system to include alarms and applications way beyond the sprinkler system with relatively little fuss and just a bit more investment, which of course would lead to a nice monthly increase in the revenue to the supplier company (a revenue stream that then would go on and on for probably a long, long time)

Now the house does have a separate alarm system, but joining the sprinkler system with upgraded alarm system would enable us to drop one of the systems and drop an expense, saving us a monthly costs, while yet as described above leave the supplier with increased revenues.

The visit from the sprinkler company concluded with the agreement that they would send me a quote for upgrading the installation to my requirements and wishes and I was all set for it. The costs up front would be bare-able and the monthly expense going forward would be less than running two installations and the end solution would provide more security and not least a greater provision of these elements for the family.

But here’s the thing. I never heard back from the representative.

Now, I could easily follow up and get this in motion again, but I’m too busy on other things or simply forget to do so when phones are open or whatever. It doesn’t really matter what my excuse is. And of course, between you and me, I’m kinda like, if they don’t care more about me as a client then forget it, I will place my money with someone who do care.

For a situation like this, I’m a relatively eager and easy customer and all you would need to do is to place in front of me a decent and fair offer and I would probably put a YES to it straight away and give you my money.

Handsome young man throwing money

The other example I wanted to bring you is that of a printing service. Along with our moving it just happens that I also started a number of new businesses. For one of these I was seeking a printing service that would be able to make me a very nice upscale stationary and the like. To perform this task, I wished to source a local vendor to support the small local town. I explained everything I was looking for and they went to work.

And then they didn’t.

As I customarily will do, I invited about 3 different vendors to bid for the assignment and to come up with a solution. One hardly responded, which quickly left them dropped out of consideration. But even the others left me wanting. I had to call upon them too many times, instead of them trying to reach out to me to get the order. The final runner up eventually couldn’t really find a solution that would serve what I was looking for and pretty much just gave up.

But a solution is out there and I know where I can get it. But the point of the matter is that they (the vendors I invited) will not be getting the order, nor the order for the 5-6 other new entities for which I also need stationary.

So when I hear businesses that are whining and crying for more business I usually say they need to start by looking at all the business they are turning away already by their actions or if this is the case their in-actions. Usually their whining and complaining are uncalled for if only they would shape up a little.

I could come up with numerous more examples, like the two companies I dealt with in search of new hardwood floors, who also missed out on opportunities dues to lack of follow through and like opportunities I presented to more than one builder for potential add on to the house and the AV companies that didn’t follow through either.

You may be thinking, when reading this, that I might be a terribly difficult customer. But the fact of the matter is, that I’m actually a relatively easy client. I will give space and room for mistakes, delays and what not as long as it’s within reason. I will tell things pretty straight so that you as a vendor will know exactly for what I’m looking for, by when and to what standards and if offered a decent price and good delivery, I will accept and pony up. And I have been known for paying lots of money for solutions and sometimes chosen the more high end route for pretty much anything. So in fact I would venture to say that I’m not just a relatively easy client, I’m actually close to a perfect customer.

The conclusion in all of this is, that there’s so much more business and revenues to be had out there for all sorts of companies. But are you grasping these opportunities? Are you following through? Are you delivering on your promises and even simple deliveries?

If you are still wishing for more business, start by looking at the opportunities you already have and have had. Did you live up to the bare minimums that could have been expected from you?

Better yet: Are you over-delivering and going the extra mile?

If you can answer YES to the last question, then my bet is you can even ask for premium prices and that you can have a very performing business if you don’t already.

I shall discuss the last bit in future post soon for this is another important issue that I find too often people are struggling with. It has to do with pricing. I shall also come back with a discussion of the times when one of my own companies totally failed in its performance due to complete lack of understanding of what needed to be delivered. This one was a service company and the service lacked. It almost cost me the entire company too. But as I said, we shall return to that in future posts soon.

For this post here, I’m curious to learn about your experiences and your views. What do you think? Please comment and engage in this conversation. It would be interesting to see where our conversation together might lead us.

Journey Down The Rabbit Hole

I’m excited as I have been working on something that I believe is really cool.

I call it The Rabbit Hole.

And I invite you to journey with me down The Rabbit Hole.

Where will it take us?

Who knows?

It’s actually very much up to you.

But The Rabbit Hole is  the entrance into vast set of opportunities and possibilities alive inside this website.

You see, my experience in so many things is vast. My personal engagement in so many businesses, spanning many non-related industries, countries and States on many different levels is huge and growing. From all of this I have picked up and continue to pick up so many things. Insights, new knowledge, new experiences from successes as well as from failures, new resources and many valuable connections and contacts.

You are invited to come along.

And you will be choosing where we will be going.

It’s a journey like none other.

At least I have never seen anything offered quite like this.

My promise to you is that I will endeavor to bring you huge amounts of value and not be wasting your time.

But it’ll require your personal attention and participation.

For unless I receive your feedback and you tell me of your choices, then I will have a hard time helping you on the way further down the Rabbit Hole.

In other words if you are a tire kicker or a whiner, then please do not apply and please do not venture forth. You’ll just be wasting not just your own time, but also mine, and quite frankly, I can waste that all by myself and don’t need your help for that.

But if you are someone who wants more. More life, more zest, more results (in any area). If you are an action taker and an implementer, then let’s go. Let’s dare take the next step and let’s see together where this will take us.

But hurry.

Time’s Ticking.

Let’s go.

Ready?

Well, then click the image below and whisk yourself onward one step closer to the entrance of The Rabbit Hole.

On the day of release last week September 18 2014, Successonomics straight away hit best-seller status in not just one category but in fact 3 Amazon categories. Mikkel Pitzner contributed a chapter titled “Being Unrealistic And Being Unreasonable”, in which he describes how the best results are usually gotten when you are being completely unrealistic and quite possibly even seem rather unreasonable. Mikkel Pitzner is thus challenging the old adage of “realistic goals” or the so-called SMART goals and SMART goal setting.

Serial Entrepreneur, professional board member in Denmark, Sweden and the US, consultant, investor and dreamer extraordinaire, Mikkel Pitzner is a Partner of unique marketing and trailer rental company, Freetrailer, which currently operates throughout Denmark, Sweden and Germany with more countries to come. He is the Partner in a company named Aksel & Ko that finds that special gimmick or solution corporations need for their marketing and campaign purposes. He is the CEO of RetailWise USA that provides highly valuable surveys and insights to large retailers and help them gain perspective of the true potentials of individual stores. He is also the CEO of Pivot Point Enterprises which has just launch a unique online business platform for businesses of all sizes and any industry on which to collaborate and manage all their business processes and so much more. Mikkel is also the chief designer of a unique marketing company called Amazing Ideas Inc. and is currently working on his latest book titled “The Automated Millionaire”.

Mikkel is already multiple best selling author with Successonomics making it his 8th best selling book published thus far. He teaches entrepreneurs how to create a business that will provide for the lifestyle of their choice while taking them off the treadmill of their job, so they can spend their time on things of their choosing and has just launched a new program that will teach female would-be entrepreneurs how to build a business, obtain financial independence and grow more confident.

Mikkel Pitzner has been featured on CNBC, ABC, CNNMONEY.com, Entrepreneur, Fox News, CBS News, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Fast Company, SmartMoney, USA Today and NBC, America’s PremierExperts, Børsen, Berlingske Tidende, Erhvervsbladet and Näringsliv. As mentioned above these programs soon to be released teaches the basic tools need for entrepreneurs to run their business, how to become an automated millionaire, how to build a business, for females: How to build you own business, become financially independent and grow more confident and finally a program on goal setting.

CelebrityPress™ describes the book:

The intriguing part of success is that it means such different things to different people. However, just as success encompasses achievement, SuccessOnomics™ implies the achieving of goals through fiscal competence. The concept of Success combined with Economics is a formidable financial combination. The Celebrity Experts® in this book are successful in different areas, but they all exhibit the components of success: perseverance, passion, planning, risktaking with a willingness to fail, decision-making and, maybe the most important component of all, they take action. The authors in this book share their success methodology and mindset. This allows the reader to understand not merely how they think, but, more importantly, how these CelebrityExperts® can guide and coach them to a mastery of SuccessOnomics™ in their own lives. Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up. ~ Thomas A. Edison.

After such a successful release, Mikkel Pitzner will be recognized once again by The National Academy of Best-Selling Authors™, an organization that honors authors from many of the leading independent best-seller lists.

The Creature

Q. What are banks for?

A. To make money.

Q. For the customers?

A. For the banks.

Q. Why doesn't bank advertis-
ing mention this?

A. It would not be in good taste.
But it is mentioned by implica-
tion in references to reserves of
$249,000,000 or thereabouts.
That is the money that they have
made.

Q. Out of the customers?

A. I suppose so.

Q. They also mention Assets of
$500,000,000 or thereabouts.
Have they made that too?

A. Not exactly. That is the
money they use to make money.

Q. I see. And they keep it in a
safe somewhere?

A. Not at all. They lend it to
customers.

Q. Then they haven't got it?

A. No.

Q. Then how is it Assets?

A. They maintain that it would
be if they got it back.

Q. But they must have some
money in a safe somewhere?

A. Yes, usually $500,000,000 or
thereabouts. This is called
Liabilities.

Q. But if they've got it, how can
they be liable for it?

A. Because it isn't theirs.

Q. Then why do they have it?

A. It has been lent to them by
customers.

Q. You mean customers lend
banks money?

A. In effect. They put money
into their accounts, so it is really
lent to the banks.

Q. And what do the banks do
with it?

A. Lend it to other customers.

Q. But you said that money they
lent to other people was Assets?

A. Yes.

Q. Then Assets and Liabilities
must be the same thing?

A. You can't really say that.

Q. But you've just said it. If I put
$100 into my account the bank is
liable to have to pay it back, so
it's Liabilities. But they go and
lend it to someone else, and he is
liable to have to pay it back, so
it's Assets. It's the same $100,
isn't it?

A. Yes. But...

Q. Then it cancels out. It means,
doesn't it, that banks haven't
really any money at all?

A. Theoretically....

Q. Never mind theoretically.
And if they haven't any money,
where do they get their
Reserves of $249,000,000 or
thereabouts?

A. I told you. That is the money
they have made.

Q. How?

A. Well, when they lend your
$100 to someone they charge
him interest.

Q. How much?

A. It depends on the Bank Rate.
Say five and a-half per cent.
That's their profit.

Q. Why isn't it my profit? Isn't it
my money?

A. It's the theory of banking
practice that...

Q. When I lend them my $100
why don't I charge them inter-
est?

A. You do.

Q. You don't say. How much?

A. It depends on the Bank Rate.
Say half a per cent.

Q. Grasping of me, rather?

A. But that's only if you're not
going to draw the money out
again.

Q. But of course, I'm going to
draw it out again. If I hadn't
wanted to draw it out again I
could have buried it in the gar-
den, couldn't I?

A. They wouldn't like you to
draw it out again.

Q. Why not? If I keep it there
you say it's a Liability. Wouldn't
they be glad if I reduced their
Liabilities by removing it?

A. No. Because if you remove it
they can't lend it to anyone else.

Q. But if I wanted to remove it
they'd have to let me?

A. Certainly.

Q. But suppose they've already
lent it to another customer?

A. Then they'll let you have
someone else's money.

Q. But suppose he wants his too
... and they've let me have it?

A. You're being purposely ob-
tuse.

Q. I think I'm being acute. What
if everyone wanted their money
at once?

A. It's the theory of banking
practice that they never would.

Q. So what banks bank on is not
having to meet their commit-
ments?

A. I wouldn't say that.

Q. Naturally. Well, if there's
nothing else you think you can
tell me...?

A. Quite so. Now you can go off
and open a banking account.

Q. Just one last question.

A. Of course.

Q. Wouldn't I do better to go off
and open up a bank?
Wordpress Sparkle Learn How To Build Your Website - Free Fast Track video series

New Online Information Product Finally Live

Yes indeed. I have launched an online information product on…. wait for it…. how to build your website using WordPress.

Huh?

Yes, I understand if you might be confused. Why they heck would I do that all of a sudden? Well, to be honest, I got so frustrated over time to be spending so much money on websites being built for my businesses, activities and hobbies and then still be left with the difficulties of … well, how would I now get them updated?

I also grew frustrated over the fact that then I was still left with websites that did little for my businesses and my endeavors. Those I hired were great at the design from a visual design point of view, but not knowledgeable from the point of view of how to make the site pull in leads and what I could potentially turn into paying customers.

So I set out to learn how to build my websites myself and aided greatly by the software and platforms getting friendlier and friendlier for the non-geeky, non-technical person I eventually were able to actually build something that worked – greatly.

Originally I started out with iWeb from Apple – cause they make such great products and software making it easy, intuitive (I usually really don’t want to read the instructions, so..), but seeing that iWeb was not the best suited program for search engine optimization and seeing eventually Apple discontinued the program, I looked elsewhere.

My choice quickly became obvious.

WordPress!

The number one choice not just for blogs for for websites.

One of my tactics for finding the best choices in many respects is to look for the bests in their industries. And then I look at what they make use of and question them on why. WordPress became the clear winner over all. I looked at the internet gurus who are making killings online and I looked at which platform they were using. Invariably they pretty much all used WordPress.

OK, so on I went to learn how to build my sites. Slow process even if it is easy, even bought some programs, but always found none of them didn’t have a natural progression nor a very well formed step by step that would lead me through the understanding and in an efficient manner. So everything I learned was found in bits here and there and although some of it was good material, it was a nuisance not to have a good one stop location.

By now, I would venture to say that I’m fairly savvy with building the sites and not least knowing some of the very intricate parts that make real differences in results.

So in the end, I thought that hey, the market seems to lack an easy to follow natural step by step how to instructional source on the subject, so why not provide it to the market? Well, it’s here now. And it even has a free component available to anybody which will in fact show how to get your brand new and empty site from its initial state to a website that has the look and feel the you want. Want to have a look?

Yes, it’s true, I will be offering more online information products in future and they will on completely other topics, more suited to the real interests of mine such as how to run businesses, make money, achieve success, goal setting etc. But I have found that we all need a lot of great marketing insights in achieving success with our businesses and we also all need all encompassing platforms to support our businesses; including a website. Thus I thought, hey, I learned it myself, why not bring this knowledge to others, but in an easier and more natural way to others.

In other words. Now there is a little free program, that literally will show you how to build your site into YOUR site. The full program which comes at a price is the program that I wish I had had when I started out learning about building the websites.

So yes, I will not be blogging about this all the time, for I’m more interested in bringing my knowledge and experience on more business related matters to others. My experience and insights are so much bigger in those areas any ways. Not least due to the failures I have suffered, and then from how I learned to turn those around and amplify my results. But I feel also it would not be complete to leave out this opportunity for others who might frequent my personal ego website here to get the free fast track video series on how to build YOUR website.

So there we are.

Little Sun Feature on Mikkel Pitzner

Brilliance All Around Me

A mentor of mine once got the impression during a Mastermind session that I was fascinated by famous people. But I had to correct him there, as it is not the fact that they might be famous in certain cases, but rather that they portrayed brilliance in their specific areas.

And it is brilliance that I’m particularly fascinated by. And yes, I wish to be closer to this brilliance that some of these people have and thus like to be closer to people portraying the brilliance. One never knows, it might just rub off on you. In fact I do believe that we are all easily a product of the people we are close to and the people we hang out with. This is a subject for another discussion that I will take up in future, but it’s not really pertaining to what I wanted to talk about this time round.

No, for this discussion I wanted to touch on brilliance and in fact I think this will be just the start of a string of posts to come or shall we say the birth of a new category here on my ego website blog, which I will be naming – you’ ve got it:

Brilliance.

But before we leave the subject of famous people, let me just note that without knowing a lot of them personally (in other words, I could just be making a judgement here which bears little merit or draw conclusion without offering fair discrepancy to specific individuals), that I believe there are many famous people who hold little, if any, brilliance, just as there are many people who are a far cry from being famous who are very brilliant. There are though also some, who has great brilliance without necessarily receiving the judgement by most peers of being brilliant. So as with most other things, there are variances of truths – or at least of perceptions.

Don’t quite get what the hell I’m saying here?

Well, let me explain just a tiny bit further with an example.

Take Kim Kardashian for example. She’s is super famous, right? At least she is super famous in the States (as in the United States) and as it would appear also in places such as Dubai and thus probably also some of the similar neighboring countries. For some of my Northern European friends (apparently, they don’t get Keeping Up With The Kardashians show over there), let me inform you that she is a reality show star, a business woman and has some attractions (looks). Now, while she is super famous, she is probably not the type of person who has given the majority of people an impression of being super brilliant and super smart. In fact, earlier this year in the Success magazine, they brought an article about her only to be hammered by loads of negative remarks on how Success magazine could lower themselves to such standards as bringing an article on her in their coveted magazine that usually portrays people very well know for true brilliance (examples such as: Jim Rohn, Peter Diamandis, John C. Maxwell, Richard Branson and the like).

But what some of these readers probably failed to see, was the fact that although she is probably no rocket scientist, she certainly has some very spectacular abilities for building awareness and brand. In fact it has been stated that her personal brand along with her business endeavors could be valued upward a billion dollars – billion with a B. And not to be focused on the money, but rather on the value, which in this case is measured in dollars. If you can build up your brand to a billion dollar mark then you do show some brilliance.

So OK, personally, I’m probably more focused that she has looks, more than appearance of a bright mind, but I admire the brilliance that is showing up in the results she has created. And indeed, if she didn’t do it, but is just surrounded by a team of brilliant people that made it happen, well, then she shows brilliance for aligning herself with such people. So either way, there is brilliance here.

But alas, this post was not and is not about her. But it is my commencement into mentioning people of brilliance and the brilliance that we can sometimes take joy in ourselves – even from afar.

So to start up the series (the posts of which will be coming as I get around to it or as I’m inspired to do so), why not let me start it up by something that truly lights up. Literally lights up.

I’m a very fortunately man. I have already lived through much, seen much and experienced much. I have the best little personal family, wife and so far two children (the very best!), and a few very highly valued friends. I’ve got great company relations and work with many extraordinary people some of which have demonstrated time and time again real brilliance. Through my huge and ever fast growing network and relations via my projects, business activities as well as extra curricular activities, the companies that I work with or am involved with and their projects I’m connected with, engaged with or aligned with brilliance and brilliant people and brilliant projects. In fact I see brilliance all around me. And I love it and I treasure it and I must admit, continuously crave for more of it.

If you are familiar with my ego website, you probably already have seen some of the people or learned about some of the names of whom I’m talking and yet, I have only mentioned a tiny fraction of them so far. You might have already noticed some names that you know of already, such as Brian Tracy, Jack Canfield, Dan Kennedy, Robert G. Allen, Brendon Burchard, but there so many more people that deserve mentioning in this regard and I am intend on doing so over time. A lot of them are by no means household names nor famous in any way. But it makes their brilliance no less phenomenal. If I fail to mention some, it is hopefully not because I have failed to recognized their brilliance, but rather that time prevented me, or distractions such as other shiny objects stole my attention away elsewhere or that I simply haven’t gotten there yet.

But like I said. I’m fortunate and although I didn’t always think that of myself, I have always been fortunate. Some of the brilliant people that I have met go back to early or later school years, which actually also means that I have not had much contact with many of these since. Oh, and don’t get me wrong – and I’m judging here once again, I know – it’s not that I believe everybody to be brilliant. But recollecting over my encounters I have been surrounded time and time again by brilliance and brilliant people. And my school, Herlufsholm, of my earlier years (when I was 10 thorough to 18 years of age) actually had a lot as pupils.

So the first story that lights up this category, is one of my fellow school mates. From way back in the ninth grade in the Danish school system, which I have no clue what would be called here in the US where I now live, but which is just before High School, I guess (in Denmark, just before Gymnasium).

What brings recollection to this person to me at this point is opening up the latest magazine from American Express, the magazine named Departures, and inside see a one page image and small mentioning under the headline NEW THINK and LIGHT OF THE WORLD. It’s a mentioning of a little product called Little Sun. The guys behind the product is my old ninth grade fellow school kid, engineer Frederik Ottesen, who with Danish-Islandic Olafur Eliasson, have designed a little plastic flowery shaped rechargeable lamp, that is good for 1,000 charges and can help light up in homes or where ever you are (small enough to bring with you). Little Sun uses the natural energy of sunlight where energy is unavailable or unreliable, not affordable or not sustainable and thus a lot of the company of Little Sun’s efforts are taking this little lamp to people in dire need of it in third world countries while also aiding in greening the world with more eco-friendly solutions.

Here is what the article said:

NEW THINK

LIGHT OF THE WORLD

A solar-powered lamp puts art in the hands of everyone. Plus, the new tech finds that make life better

Like all well-designed items, this clever LED light by Frederik Ottesen and Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliason is deceptively simple. Little Sun may appear to be just a bright desk object, but it’s actually a powerhouse: Good for 1,000 charges, it provides five hours of light. Not only functional, the tiny lamp also aims to replace eco-friendly kerosene lamps in developing countries like Kenya and Ethiopia, where it will be sold at a reduced price. It’s the kind of beautifully conceived piece that most any aesthete would covet, with the added bonus of doing some good for the world. $25; littlesun.com – Steven Leckart

(also in the article: Little Sun. The plastic frame’s flowery, hollow shape improves airflow, provides shade and increases surface area to help cool the lamp’s batteries while charging in direct sunlight).

I’m not much in contact with Frederick, except for the updates that come by my eyes on occasion on Facebook (which I find being a great tool for keeping a little bit in the know of what people you know or once knew are up to, how many kids they now have, what interests them etc.). But I do recall back in the day, that when Frederick wasn’t just obnoxious or irritating, then he definitely showed signs of a great mind and always had lots of fun ideas. Cheeky smile and very charming also – I knew that he had something. And now I see that he not only still has great and grand ideas, but also shows savvy with bringing them to fruition and spreading the awareness of it.

Frederick’s concept of his Little Sun seems to encompass ideas that are bigger than himself, which may just be the ticket to really big results in near future.

I commend that and I have much respect for it.

Frederick Ottesen thus gets the honor of starting off the series of Brilliance – and he will be in great company.

Trade Secrets For Marketing Your Business Online by Mikkel Pitzner

Trade Secrets For Marketing Your Business Online Has Just Been Released

Hurray, my newest book has just been released.

The book is called Mikkel Pitzner’s Trade Secret For Marketing Your Business Online and in it I show business owners what they need to do in order to stand a chance at being found online and getting the business.

I have been astounded by the fact that so many businesses are still not very well presented online. In fact some of them are so poorly set up that even though they may have a great website and even though they may have great products and services, you cannot find them unless you know their specific URL (web address).

It came to my attention recently when I was searching for a vendor in my local area. I knew where they were located and in fact I had already set up an order with them and had seen their great products and great work. But now I needed to amend something for our order and needed to get in touch with them. I had forgotten what they named their business so I couldn’t look that up, but like I said, I knew where they were located and I knew what they were selling.

To my surprise I could not find them in any online searches when I put in these piece of information about them.

If you are anything like me and you need a local service, say e.g. a plumbing service. Now let’s say you don’t know anyone in specific or have any recommendations from someone you know personally. You may well wish to go with someone who are in your immediate vicinity, so you Google plumbers and look for your local area.

Of those that do come up in search results, you may look at their websites to gauge which one to go with and you may even look to see if there are any testimonials on their websites or on websites such as www.yelp.com etc.

Now whoever does not come up in your search results will not even be considered, right?

So here I was. Looking for someone in particular who I had found delivered a superior product coupled with phenomenal service. I knew where they were located and what they sold. – and I couldn’t even find them.

My conclusion: They are definitely missing out on a lot of potential business which will instead go to their competitors also in the local vicinity, who may even have lesser quality of services and products.

Well, I have been engaged heavily with marketing in relations to so many companies now, so I figured I would make use of some of the knowledge gained over so many years. A lot of what’s needed for a business owner for their online marketing is described in the book, so now business owners have a place to start. It’s an easy read and it gives y ideas on where to start and what to do. For those who do not have the time to learn and do themselves, I’m also offering done-for-you services, so just drop me a line and let’s discuss your business.

I will not die an unlived life

Mikkel Pitzner and The Blue Ocean

I came across a poem today that really spoke to me because it reminded me of something that I have recently promised myself to do going forward. The promise to myself was to be more courageous!

Too many things are not done out of fear. Out of fear of what will happen if I don’t succeed. Out of fear of, What will they say? Etc.

We often live lives unaccomplished to even a minute amount of what I believe we are all capable of – quite simply because we don’t dare.

So that’s why I made myself the promise that I MUST step out of that comfort zone, risk more, stick my nose out and just roll with the punches, but probably even more likely actually get to enjoy the fruits of the journey and of what I will become. For things to change towards what I wish them to change to – I have to change.

Anyway, here is the nice poem that I read. I’m sure you will enjoy it too.

I will not die an unlived life.
I will not live in fear
of falling or catching fire.
I choose to inhabit my days,
to allow my living to open me,
to make me less afraid,
more accessible,
to loosen my heart
until it becomes a wing,
a torch, a promise.
I choose to risk my significance;
to live so that which came to me as seed
goes to the next as blossom
and that which came to me as blossom,
goes on as fruit.

The Plan For Success System – Program Soon Available

Quantcast

Well, it has been a looong journey, but it will finally not be long before I will be launching my very first online information product, called The Plan For Success System.

The program is the result of an interview that I gave to an accomplished entrepreneur Mr. Greg Rollett and the interview was centered around my contribution to the book collaboration The Only Business Book You’ll Ever Need that I co-authors with among others Mr. Brian Tracy.

My contribution to said book referenced a number of encounters that I have had when meeting entrepreneurs and discovering just how many (and there are MANY) of them are way too over-stressed and probably pushing themselves to an early grave. Their problems are usually that although they are putting in the many hours that they are not getting the results they had hoped for and most of their time seems to end up being in a response or reactive mode rather than in a proactive mode. They usually end up spending most of their time frantically putting out fires left and right. At the same time they are usually disintegrating all the other parts of their lives, putting no resources into their relationships nor their health – and it shows and it is felt in both of these areas. But they have no time nor the extra energy to muster to do something about these areas after their full day of painfully trying to keep their businesses afloat.

What has struck me from conversations with many of such entrepreneurs is that they very often completely lack the tools or simple and very fundamental parts to running their businesses, so that in essence they are running their businesses blindfolded. When you run your business blindfolded, it is no wonder that you may just suffer the consequences and end up in a scenarios such as described above.

During my discussion with Greg Rollett, I came to realize that I wanted to see if I could help entrepreneurs in this situation find those fundamental tools. Tools they already know about, but that they oftentimes are not utilizing or discarding in their daily operations and because of that are running their businesses on guess work causing this ripple effect to set in sooner or later.

So the interview with Greg Rollett soon took a different character and he turned his questions in to what we structured as a 4-module natural layout.

Now I appreciate the interview in itself and I believe it to have much great content to draw insights from. Insights that I learned through my years so far of being involved in a multitude of businesses spanning several industries and several countries and several types of businesses with several different positions. My perspectives have come from being an employee at all kinds of levels starting from probably the lowest ranked positions to the highest, from being a start up entrepreneur with multiples of start up companies in my experience, to being a partner in several other businesses, to being a board member in yet even more businesses, to being an expensive high-level consultant to businesses, to consulting high profile professionals and athletes, in multiple countries of Europe and several States in the United States of America. Experience from industries operating in the service industry, some in the high end luxury markets, the construction industry and with top roles such as CEO, President, Board Member and Owner.

But one of the things I particularly like from this program is the Action Guide. This Action Guide is what is going to make the content of the program and the lessons in there become truly relevant to the entrepreneur seeking answers and solutions to their situation. Although the Action Guide is relatively small the exercises therein will help direct the entrepreneur’s focus on the issues that underlies the problem situation and help the entrepreneur get clear about where to set in.

Some of the parts to the equation are so simple, but we oftentimes need someone from the outside to tap on our shoulder and point towards them. We get that “aha” moment and the light bulb comes on. Then comes the work, but now it you know where you need to place some focus to tighten up and righten the ship.

Now this program will not of course solve your every business problem and it will not be an all encompassing teaching, but it could be just the start that is going to help the troubled entrepreneur get back on the right track. That is my aim and that is what I’m committed to with the program.
